Flickr Finds { Vintage Bingo Card Image Search}

HA! Designs via flickr
Seeking inspiration online invariably leads me to Flickr. This time my search was for a vintage Bingo card. I have some vintage Bingo cards... somewhere. But when I wanted one I was sitting on the couch reading blogs and watching TV. A quick Google search lands me on Flickr and HA! Designs - ArtbyHeather's  photostream. BINGO! In more ways than one. I had just found another great source of vintage epherema.

Here's a few other goodies she has posted that you might enjoy... She has posted all these images as free to share and use in your art projects.

I wish I had a ruler like this... so pretty! Be sure and check out her Art by Me section as well. She has created some beautiful collage images that are sure to inspire you.

My Vintage Typewrite Find & Share the Love Link Party # 7

 A vintage typewriter has been on my wish list for some time now. When I saw this one at an estate sale for $2, well, wish granted! It's not the dream vintage Underwood I had hoped for, or the sweet red and pink typewriters I've envied, but it's a typewriter, it's vintage, and for the price, it worked.

Now I need to try and find a new ribbon for it. It's quite cute on my kitchen desk. Thank  goodness it's a sturdy desk--this typewriter is a heavy load! I think it's at least 20 lbs... no kidding.  Kind of cute how it came with a roll of labels in it all ready to go. When I made labels on the computer it is a little time consuming... find the labels, put them in the printer, turn the computer on, make a document, etc... This certainly makes it easy just keeping the roll loaded in there.

Last Week's Link Spotlight...

Here are two links from last week's party I wanted to share with you. This beautiful table makeover by Rosegirls3 reminded me of the beauty found in old furniture just waiting to be given new life. With a coat of paint and glaze, all the pretty lines and details of this table just shine!

Another link I really enjoyed was the spring mantel redo below at Cottage Living from Beach to Burbs. Lots of white and clear glass with spring touches make for a beautiful mantel. She has such a pretty fireplace to begin with, but I love the simple glass jars filled with seasonal goodies. Very easy to implement. Check out the added touch of lights in the vase arrangement as well! When you stop by Mariaelana's blog, be sure and enter her fabulous giveaway of a Ballard Designs tote!

Let's get this week's party started! A few reminders...

Vintage Bunnies & Ducks {Images}

Although this group of vintage cards isn't specifically themed Easter, they each feature familiar spring characters; a bunny and a cute duck.

I'll post the original of each, but I've also removed the wording on them in case you want to add your own text for crafting.

Enjoy!

Flowers for You

I hope these flowers bring you some joy. They are simple white mums from the grocery store.

The vase is from a visit to an antique mall, chosen for its color and pretty lines.
The top edge is rimmed with a ruffle design.

I hope you like them!

Sweet Vintage Baby Decor & Share the Love Link Party #6!

My favorite era for vintage illustration is the 50s. It's the simple portrayal of people, places and animals in such a happy, carefree way that I like.

I have quite a few vintage baby cards I purchased as a whole bag for a few dollars. I've always had an eye for vintage pottery and when I saw this cute lamb planter (above) with an adorable face, I thought I might use it as a pencil holder on my desk or to hold scissors on my art table.

I found the above two pieces at a St. Vincent thrift store, and decided to bring them home too. The price was right, and I thought they'd be cute gift filled with flowers for a new mom or nursery supplies at a baby shower. If I didn't use them, I could always enjoy their vintage cuteness for a while and then sell them.

This card looks to be a bit older than the 50s. The new parents are so elegant and the baby looks like Cinderella in that sweet carriage!

That's it for my vintage baby love! What do you have to share this week? Scroll down & link up the best of your blog on Share the Love Wednesday!
At last week's party, one link brought out two of my favorite things... vintage illustrations + glitter! On Musings from Kim K, you'll find a tutorial for these gorgeous Easter baskets made from peat pots!

I Heart this {Vintage} Flea Market Cart

The wheel on my little flea market cart fell off  a while ago and I've been checking out my options for something new. Seems like if I don't bring a cart to a flea market I always wish that I did.

In my online search I came across my dream cart... the cart that I heart... big time. Check it out...

It had me at the picture above. And then, I saw it with this sweet vintage  floral cart liner... and my heart went pitter-patter, pitter-patter...

It's perfect, isn't it? It belongs to Susan, from The T-Cozy. The bad news is, I couldn't find another one online for less than $200. The good news is, I found a new blog to follow! When you head over there, be sure and check out her studio tour, and she has a shop with lots of vintage lovelies, too. Thanks Susan, for letting me blog about your beautiful cart!

This one is cute, too. I'm not crazy about the ruffle, but I bet any cart would look cute with a liner like Susan's.

If I don't find something soon, I know they have some at Home Goods--not quite as cute as that little green one, though! Do you have a flea market cart? I'd love to see it... if you've posted about it or find one online, include a link in your comment!

The Vase is Shabby White & Pink {My Deer}

I picked up this pretty little vase last week. What caught my eye? Well, it's a deer and I have a thing for vintage deer.

It's mostly white with gold trim {bLiNg!} and pretty pink roses.

The color of the leaves is such a pretty green, used so often in vintage pieces. Those little flecks you see on the rose petals are touches of gold. I couldn't find anything similar in my quick online search, so I don't know much about it.

I picked up quite a few goodies during that same trip but chose this one to share with you at Pink Saturday!

Estate Sale Silver & Last Week's Share the Love Round Up of Talent!

 I went to an estate sale last weekend; haven't been to one in quite some time. The first day of the sale I found an amazing deal--it's still in the car so I'll have to reveal that in another post. However, this pretty silver sugar and creamer are pretty sweet too! They were kind of expensive I thought, so I waited until the second day after noon to go back and see if they had marked them down. Sure enough, they had!

It's tall and slim and I haven't seen too many like this before. The engraved design on the foot is pretty too.

The sugar bowl almost looks like a little trophy with such big handles. Not sure what room I will be using these in quite yet. For now they are on a bookshelf in my office.

The other items I was hoping might get marked down had sold already. I'll be checking estate sales more often. Seems that the thrift stores near me are pricing things higher than estate sales!
 Here's some of my favorite links  from last week's Share the Love (#4).  This week's party is still open; scroll down or click on the party button on my sidebar to join up!

I always see vintage aprons at sales and have bought a few. Never would I have thought to make such a cute display out of them as Kim did!

The next link is a really unique bracelet, but quite easy to make when you follow That Girl's tutorial...

This looks like a fabulous party--beautiful outfits, pretty tablesettings and lots of fun party decor. If I could only translate the blog! Check out the beautiful cake and styling at this everything in pink event at Prunille fait son show

Thanks to everyone who linked up! Love seeing all the great ideas and I've found some great new blogs through this party and I hope my readers have too! Don't forget to link up to this week's party!

Glitter Shakers, Part 2 & Share the Love Link Party #5

I filled my vintage salt and pepper shakers this afternoon.  These are some of my favorites. Of course the round one steals the show--it holds some of Martha Stewart's crystal glitter.

I decided not to shine the tops of the shakers. Although some of them are dark and dull, the glitter and the glass steal the show.

Even though I usually look for silver tops, this pair had such pretty glass texture and shape I couldn't resist. I decided to fill them with white and black glitter, traditional salt and pepper colors.

Of the colored glitters, this light green is probably my favorite. I put it in a special bottle, this one is quite shapely and the cut is really pretty.

I made little paper funnels to get the glitter in the tiny openings. It was a little messy, but in a sparkly kind of way, so that was fine with me! I usually end up with glitter on my clothes and then it gets on my hands and face... but I really don't mind. It beats the dirt after working in the garden.

Some of the shakers are so tiny, but glitter really lasts such a long time and I have lots in little plastic bottles that I was so happy to repackage.

Carrie at In the Hammock, Miss Char and Ann@A Sentimental Life all made comments about the silver tray I featured the glitter on in my Glitter Shakers Part 1 post, so I decided to keep them displayed this way. It will make my studio craft space so much more glamorous! A girl's gotta have some fun, right?

What have you been doing this week? Scroll down & ink up the best of your blog on Share the Love Wednesday! I'll be featuring some of last week's participants on Thursday of this week since this glitter shaker post was so long.
