No Posts? Must be a Foster Puppy!

It's been over a week since I've posted last. Usually that type of absence means a new foster puppy has arrived in my care.

This little golden bundle arrived the day after Christmas. She is 4 months old and the photo above shows you the speed she travels at.... fast!

Her name is Brooklyn and she is quite a sweet puppy. Except when it comes to my 2 year-old golden, Marley. He is a saint, putting up with her chasing, biting and climbing.

The sweetest moment is at the end of the day, when she is tired and happy to cuddle. She'll make someone a great family dog. In the meantime, we'll care for her, begin her training and get her ready for her forever home!

  3. Kudos to you for being able to foster. I would never be able to do that. Actually, I did unoffically try once. My grandmother's dog had puppies, but due to some complications they had to be separated from her 2 weeks later.

When my grandmother couldn't care for mom and puppies, she asked me to bring the puppies home. My brother was supposed to take them, but as soon as I saw them, I said he could only have one. For the next 6 weeks, my Mom and I fed them around the clock and took care of them.....

....and at that point we told my brother to get a dog at the pound. We took in my grandmother's poodle years later after she died and we also have a 3 year old chihuahua. That's how we became that insane family with the 4 dogs.

I hope Brooklyn finds herself a good home!

  10. That is so wonderful of you to be a foster mom. I bet it's hard to let them go when the time comes. We had a Golden puppy for one day and we had to take her back to the breeder because she was sick...we all cried. At the time I was not aware of all the dog rescues that there are (I feel pretty dumb for that). I would defiantly rescue one next time.
